Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to All Your Questions

Are your classes and workshops free of cost?

Most are Free! We strive to keep our garden and events free but there are a few that are ticket only events, meaning that you must purchase a ticket to attend. These events are clearly designated so there are no surprises!

How can I join the Community Garden?

You can join our garden by emailing us or messaging us on Facebook. We will set up a time to meet and get you started! It is free but there is a form to be filled out before we can assign you a garden box!

Are you open on weekends and holidays?

The garden is open all the time. We ask that you be respectful of others and not take what isn't yours. As a member of the garden you will be shown which areas are private gardens and which are community use!

Are there fees or forms?

It's free to be member, but there is a form to that must be filled out before you can start volunteering or gardening. This allows us to continue a good relationship with the city who graciously allows us to use the land the garden is on.

What do I need to bring?

Once you are a member of the garden, you will be assigned a box. This includes the garden box and soil. We do have some tools that have been donated for you to use. Please be respectful of the other members and return them when you are done using them. These tools stay at the garden so everyone can benefit. What you need to bring: Gloves, Seeds or plants, Trellising items, Organic plant food and soil additives are all helpful.

Can I use any pesticides, fertilizers, or soil additives I want?

We are STRICTLY organic. This is actually one of our only rules. Use of non-organic pesticides, fertilizers, ect will result in the immediate loss of garden privileges. We are more than happy to help you if you have questions or need help deciding what to use!
